On Nov. 20 around 6:30 p.m., Harbour Grace RCMP were advised of a home invasion that had occurred at a residence in Harbour Grace on Nov. 14.
Three men forced their way into the home and assaulted one of the homeowners using a weapon and stole some items. The suspects demanded money from the victims and informed them if they did not pay by the next day there would be further trouble.
This incident is not believed to be random in nature as the individuals are known to each other.
Thirty-seven-year-old Christopher Bursey of Harbour Grace is facing charges of extortion, robbery, assault with a weapon, break and enter and failure to comply with an undertaking. He has been remanded until Monday morning, Nov. 26.
Thirty-one-year-old Christopher Crane and 46-year-old Kevin Bursey, both from Harbour Grace, are facing charges of extortion, robbery and break and enter. They were released from custody and will appear in court on Jan. 23, 2019.
The investigation is continuing.
